Sunday, Week 3
[ Having slept, Mikami feels a little calmer about the events of yesterday. 'A little' in this scenario means that he no longer feels like his world is completely collapsing at the seams, it's more like a deep and all-encompassing existential dread. It's... workable.
And work is what he wants to do. Fix it, somehow, even though he can't.
But his brain is running in endless circles and maybe, for once in his life, he needs to admit he can't do this alone. Which is bad, because everyone else here is absolutely awful.
Except maybe Rean. So it's time to knock on Rean's door. ]
It's Mikami. Do you have a moment?

Though he heard a knock, Rean will open the door to his room upon hearing Mikami's voice. At least it was somebody sane who approached. ]
I do. You can come in if you want.
[ Things were arranged neatly in his room, also there were empty random bottles, and if Mikami listened he could hear some soft music coming from them.
Rean will pull out the chair for Mikami to sit and then place himself on the bed. ]
Was there something you wanted to talk about?

He sits down on the chair and nods in Rean's direction. ]
I wanted to hear your opinion on what we learned in the trial, with regards to the Lady's experiments... I have to admit, my head is spinning a little when considering the implications.

I...goddess, it's a lot. And I don't really like any of it.
[ ... ]
To be honest? I'm not sure how anyone could act so cavalier about it. [ Mikami probably knows who he's talking about. ] Regardless of where people lie, I should think that's really a concerning prospect for everyone involved. And it's just scary, thinking about her doing that to us.
And...that it's probably not the first time she's done something so monstrous.
[ Maybe...some people do deserve to be in Gehenna after all. ]

[ That's an execution he'd even gladly watch, at this point. ]
Our brains as an energy source... Although it feels revolting to say, if I died, I'd prefer having my own be destroyed rather than be used to her ends.

[ Rean would not be sorry to see her go.
...It's kind of a sad day where he considered even the person he thought as a monster would not run someone's brain as a power source.
So she's somehow been able to get lower than the Chancellor. He knew exactly how he felt about that, but he also wondered how that happened. ]
...I agree. I wonder why she would sink so low in the first place. I knew she was desperate to achieve whatever her goal really is in all of this, but to do that? It sounded absolutely insane on top of everything else.

If that's really what she's doing, we can't neglect the fact that it appears to be working. There is more electricity in the city now than ever before - if brains are powering it, which I hope they're not, then her plan isn't so much insane as functional. Gruesomely detestably functional.

So this whole experience has been rather...rough, so to speak. ]
...I'm going to hope that has more to do with what Dist and I found during the week than brains. Which I know might seem desperate at this point, but ... this whole week has honestly been a lot. There has to be a little glimmer of light at the end of it.
