Week 5 - Monday, sometime shortly after 9pm

[ Saying goodnight to Aki has become a short little habit since Hazama happened, but today Mikami feels a little sick knocking at her door - and it's neither because of the poison nor because he just dealt with a poisoned Sting. The culprit are paperclips in his room instead. ]

Aki-chan? It's me, Mikami. We might have to talk a little longer today.

Hey...

[She opens the door in the pajamas, as is her habit, having already taken a bath. It's nice to take one laying down. That's about the only nice thing that has happened this week.]

Mr. Mikami... [She swallows bile.] Is this about what I think it is?

[ He nods, looking bitter. ]

The luggage cart was a predictably bad idea. Can I come in?

[The blood drains out of Aki's face. She takes a long peer into the hallway behind Mikami before stepping away. Nod. He can come in.

Aki sits on the bed with her hands in her Lap.]

Did he just roll into the sunset...?

[ Mikami makes sure the door is closed tightly behind him before he answers. ]

Then he'd at least still be chained to something. No, his cuff locks were opened - with the help of paperclips as it appears.
We'll resolve this somehow but until then your safety is priority.

But...

[Her face falls.]

He didn't have paperclips before, did he? Then who brought them? Who would do that--?

That's what I want to find out.

[ He grits his teeth and starts pacing up and down the room a little. ]

They couldn't strike as long as we had a perfectly set schedule about his guard, but now...

Either they work with him directly or they are strong enough to have no reason to be afraid.

Yeah. They must think that they won't get killed by him themselves because he likes them-- [She remembers something] --or like you said they're strong and not afraid. I mean, if they wanted everyone including themselves at risk of dying, there are way easier ways to do that.

[Actually, something else comes to mind that makes her even more cross, straightens her back as she looks to Mikami for confirmation. She hopes she's overthinking this.] Unless it was some evil idiot like Keenan who doesn't just think about how many people are going to die...?
